Although the name of Tiffany is synonymous with the famous stained glass lamp shades made popular by Louis Comfort Tiffany (1848-1933), it is also legendary as the silver and jewellery business of Tiffany & Co. founded by his father Charles Lewis Tiffany.

Louis chose art and design above following into the family business and as history shows, his idea of using discarded pieces from his stained glass window designs produced beautiful lamp shades much sought after today.

His chance meeting with Thomas Edison who suggested making electric fixtures together resulting in a collaboration known in every corner of the world. Today many stunning pieces made in the Tiffany style are available from Period Style Lighting.
